The hotel location is great. A short taxi ride from Heraklion airport (10-15 euros) and right in the heart of the old city, walkable to major tourist sites. Although, there is some wall graffiti, the whole area was very clean with no homeless encampments, beggars or trash. We felt very safe walking even late at night. The room was bright, modern and clean with very comfortable beds. The 'bathroom' consisted of a small outer sink and vanity area, with a separate shower and toilet. Making it easier for two people to get ready simultaneously. There was a flat screen tv, mini-fridge, assortment of teas and coffee, in-room safe, robes, slippers and ample space to hang clothes. Our room opened to a small balcony with two chairs overlooking a park with trees, umbrellas and cafes. There were residential apartments on either side of the square and a few retail stores on street level. This balcony perk made the hotel feel homey and part of a neighborhood. Although there were cafe patrons in the square late at night, noise was no problem. And we got a good nights sleep. The front desk staff was still masked but friendly and efficient. The complimentary breakfast was very good with a wide variety of fresh items. The female cook at breakfast was especially cheerful and kind. Without asking, she even made a fresh batch of fried eggs for me. For another Cretan-style breakfast, lunch, or mid-afternoon snack option, make sure to get Heraklion-style custard bougatza with a frappe at one of the two cafes near the Mourossi Fountain! And watch the world go by.

I went to Crete in January for two days to visit the archaeological museum and the Knossos Palace. The location of the hotel is perfect. There is a public bus from Heraklion airport to a stop that is a short walking distance from the hotel. Quite close to this stop, there is another bus stop from where you can take a bus to Knossos Palace. All these bus rides were short (maybe 20-30 minutes) and cheap. The archaeological Museum (2-3 hours is enough) is really close (walking distance) to the hotel. You can walk to see the sea. There are hundreds of restaurants and stores nearby that are very busy even on a winter sunny day. However, in front of the hotel, there is a plaza with a few restaurants around it that was very quiet during my visit in January. There is a nice grocery store 200 meters from the hotel. The room was of a nice size with a large window opening to the plaza. The queen bed was comfy. There is a small fridge in the room. The electronic safe is large enough for laptops. I liked the breakfast service with good options, including a good variety of Greek spoon sweets (made of grapes, oranges, and other ingredients). I needed to depart quite early, and they offered me a breakfast box. The reception gave me a map during check-in.

The room was a very great size and contained everything you needed plus more such as, a coffee machine, tablet, free wifi, bottled water. The room had a large stand in shower which was great. Breakfast was amazing! It was buffet style and we were spoilt for choice. Lots of fresh fruit, local meats and cheeses, hot breakfasts, yoghurts, pastries and preserves. Could not fault!!! The staff are also very accommodating and keen to help with any enquiries you might have. The location of the hotel is right in the hub of of the city. There are so many restaurants and bars within just a minute's walk. The main high street is also just around the corner. The harbour is only about a 5-10 minute walk and is nice to walk around. We also had a hire car. if you really want to see Crete, I would say this is the best way to get around. The hotel has a partnership with a local car park where you can park for €6 euros a night. Perfect for us! We used the car to get around Crete during the day and then back to Heraklion for the evening to enjoy the great nightlife.

My son and I arrived on the 6:30am ferry, were warmly greeted and offered storage space for our luggage, and use of a bathroom until afternoon check-in. The room was spotless and the design welcoming and fresh with amenities and a balcony onto a beautiful square. As a "green" interior designer I was very impressed by the sustainable materials and methods applied at Olive Green. The bed was so comfortable! The breakfast was above and beyond with everything you could want for a brunch. The location was central and perfect for walking all around. We were very happy with our stay and the very friendly staff. Highly recommended. The Archaeology Museum was one of the most beautifully curated and awe inspiring museums I've ever visited.

A fine modern hotel right in the heart of the old town. We had a good, tasty breakfast each morning served by incredibly polite and attentive hotel staff. Heraklio can be a pretty noisy city, but our room overlooking a small bar-filled square was very quiet throughout our stay thanks to some very efficient sound-proof windows. The hotel serves as a great base from which to explore the city and its archaeological treasures at the nearby museum and at Knossos.
